The Samoan islands are located in the South Pacific, almost halfway between New Zealand and Hawai’i, and approximately 4,300 km from Sydney.
Flowers in Samoa
The Samoan people are very proud of their villages and they compete with each other to have the best gardens.
Travelling Between the Islands
All international flights to Samoa arrive on the main island of Upolu. To get to Upolu travellers need to fly via Samoa Air or take one of the ferries from Mulifanua Wharf on Upolu’s west coast.
Savai’i
Savai’i is the largest island in Samoa and is actually the largest Polynesian island after Hawai’i and New Zealand. It is less populated than the main island, Upolu, with about one third of the nation’s population living there.
